Overview: This strategy is called a Cloze Strategy. The purpose of a Cloze Strategy is to predict an omitted word using surrounding context clues. This strategy can be used at any grade level and for any subject. It is super easy to make on your own! After reading a book, choose a sentence, paragraph, or passage and omit various words. The child will have to use either picture clues or surrounding words to figure out the missing word.
